🌲 Mandarin Bud I – Mandarin Classes for Children with Prior Knowledge (Ages 7+) Course Code: MBI-21, MBI-22, MBI-23 Teacher: Cary Lee, Shuchen Wang, Haiyun Wang Schedule: Saturdays during term time, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Term Fee: £508.20 (Autumn Term – 14 sessions) Continue Your Child’s Mandarin Journey with Confidence and Structure Mandarin Pine I is designed for children in Year 3 and above who already have a foundation in Mandarin, typically at YCT Level 2 (150+ words) or beyond. This Mandarin immersion course helps children consolidate and expand their skills through a personalised, engaging approach that takes into account each learner’s language background and learning style. With minimal English explanation and maximum exposure to spoken and written Chinese, students build fluency and confidence across listening, speaking, reading, and writing. What Students Will Achieve - Strengthen Pinyin skills and improve pronunciation - Expand vocabulary to 150–300 words (YCT Level 2–3) - Begin writing short paragraphs in Chinese - Develop reading fluency using age-appropriate materials - Participate in interactive, multimedia-rich lessons led by experienced educators Study Expectations Children are expected to commit at least 15 minutes per day to review and homework. While a Mandarin-speaking home is not required, consistent parental support plays an essential role in helping children thrive.
