About this class

Join our Mandarin for Beginner's class Mandarin Bud II, designed for year 4 children and older who is total beginner or have some prior experience with Chinese language learning, such as through after-school clubs. Immerse yourself in Mandarin Chinese with our engaging lessons, where English explanations are provided minimally to maximise exposure to the language. Aligned with the British National Curriculum for foreign languages, our course prepares students for GCSE Mandarin. Our experienced teachers use multimedia and interactive activities, both inside and outside the classroom, to make learning enjoyable and effective. Students will master Pinyin (symbols for Chinese pronunciation), develop independent reading skills, and learn to write in Mandarin. By the end of the course, students will achieve YCT (Youth Chinese Test) Level 2/3, commanding 150-300 words in reading, speaking, and writing. Commitment: Students are expected to dedicate a minimum of 15 minutes daily to Mandarin homework and revision. While a home language environment is not essential, parental support at home is crucial for success.
